Summary
Contrary to common impressions, Paul Feyerabend was a defender of realism throughout his career. It is the task of this chapter to give plausibility to that contentious statement. I hope that this exercise will not only contribute to a better and clearer understanding of Feyerabend’s philosophy, but also generate helpful insights for those philosophers of science, epistemologists and metaphysicians and practicing scientists, who continue to wrestle with the question of realism in and about science.
