ONE POWERFUL SEARCH

You can now search like never before, because Lexis+ UK offers access to the UK's most comprehensive legal research database, containing unique content such as Halsbury's Laws of England, Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia and Atkins's Court Forms, combined with specialist practitioner texts and the complete collection of enriched case law in the UK.

Lexis+ UK is the only provider of All England Law Reports and the Official Transcripts, they also publish the ICLRs including the Weekly Law Reports, resulting in over 600,000 cases all within one single platform. Halsbury's Annotations provide the authoritative statement of the law backed by the original primary sources, helping you interpret complex legislation.

Donald Munro, Partner at Harper Macleod, said: “The in-depth content allows us to drill down more deeply across our practice and obtain better quality analysis.”

With legislation trackers, you can track the status of key legislation and market developments. Historical versioning and legislative timelines will let you see exactly what has changed in legislation over time. Results for legislation searches are streamlined, making it much easier to get to and understand. Lexis+ UK also features a Brexit toolkit and guidance notes, making it easier to stay ahead of the changes and timelines.

For the first time, users can also effortlessly access this enormous collection of legal intelligence through one powerful search.

With Lexis+ UK, users easily discover what the law says and what to do about it, all in one place. Product examples include:

Find it faster with Search Term Maps

With Search Term Maps, you can easily spot your colour-coded search terms in your results. The unique visualisation software highlights search terms with colour-coded results, making legal research more intuitive and saving valuable time.

Users can quickly scan for what they specifically need within our legal content, visually pinpointing key sections of content, cases, and documents, skipping directly to the relevant section of the document they are interested in.

Whether you're a lawyer, knowledge professional or student, this powerful feature streamlines the search process and simplifies legal research like never before. You can effortlessly access and search a massive online law library, plus powerful case law, faster and easier.

Users can now use the Search Term Maps function across all content types to speed up their research and quickly spot the documents that'll help the most.

Introducing Lexis+ Answers Cards

Lexis+ Answers uses AI-powered technology to analyse natural language questions and offer immediate answers. Users save time with our unique algorithm which recognises questions and returns a result specific to that query. We use advanced machine learning, cognitive computing, and natural language processing technologies to deliver the most authoritative answer to your natural-language question, along with precise search results.

Utilise the Search Term Maps to easily spot your colour-coded search terms in the results

Designed to help lawyers get more comprehensive information from a query, Lexis+ Answers understands the intent of your question and delivers a precise answer in the form of an Answer Card. The Answer Card provides not only the answer, but also links to the specific text within the document that is the source of the answer and suggests related topics and concepts to help you expand your search. In essence, this feature allows lawyers to type nuanced legal questions into the Lexis+ search box and receive better-targeted answers.

Track your research with Research Maps

Lexis+ Research Maps visually represent your research journey, displaying each event with a corresponding icon and message bubble for additional details. By breaking down and analysing your search history, you can easily retrace your steps and identify the best content for different parts of your search.

The graphical representation is a helpful way to learn and inform future searches, making it an ideal tool for training purposes. Research Maps can save time, improve your search process, and enhance your legal research experience.

COLLABORATION AND WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT

In addition to offering a range of innovative tools and features that make accessing legal content faster and easier, Lexis+ has been built with collaboration in mind. Various features assist with workflow management and working with colleagues or clients on the same documents.

Lexis+ workflow tools such as checklists, calculators and flow charts speed up work and ensure accuracy, as Sean Fitzpatrick, CEO of LexisNexis UK and North America says: “In today's climate, lawyers increasingly rely on technologies that make them more effective, efficient and informed practitioners. Lexis+ is a bold step forward in providing lawyers with solutions that integrate into their workflow, improve their productivity and their ability to deliver timely and strategic counsel.”

Lexis+ UK can be searched using natural language queries and is backed by AI-powered technology

Collaboration and workflow management tools include the following:

  • Highlighting and annotations – With Lexis+, users can easily pick out and contextualise information on documents that are important to them by highlighting key points and making notes. By personalising our leading legal content, you make documents your own by adding notes and highlighting sections of text, and this will help save time when returning to the same document again.

At the same time, you improve collaboration and sharing amongst teams (large or small) through the power of shared highlighting and annotations.

  • Work Folders – Lexis+ Work Folders provide dynamic workspaces that can be shared with colleagues. With Work Folders, you stay on the same page with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders without duplicating efforts.

The benefits of Work Folders are multi-fold. Users can create unlimited folders, save research, annotate documents, work in that folder, move or delete documents, and add notes which will be saved for future reference.

Also, by taking advantage of permanent storage, users can improve the efficiency of their workflow and document management.

Lexis+ Work Folders then enables users to collaborate seamlessly with the ability to share saved folders while personalising your content with your notes and ensuring its relevance to you. The ability to share folders avoids duplication, saving time and effort.

With increased capacity and the ability to retain folders for as long as you need, Work Folders will become an essential part of your team.

  • Pinned and recent sources – Pinned sources give users one-click access to regularly consulted publications, taking you straight to the relevant points in texts. Which means you avoid wasting time searching for the same content repeatedly. Whether it be Halsbury Laws of England, Atkins Court Forms, The Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents, or The All England Law Reports, going to sources right where and when you need them saves time. With Lexis+, whatever you need is close at hand. Just pin your favourite books and resources or select from your recently viewed content.
