The Social Policy Digest went online in 2002, and since then has developed into a major web-based resource on UK social policy issues. By the end of 2009 it contained over 25,000 entries, covering policy developments and research findings across the whole range of social policy fields.

The Digest can now be accessed freely at the following webpage: http://journals.cambridge.org/spd/action/home. Or you can go to the JSP homepage at http://journals.cambridge.org/JSP and click on the orange button. It is no longer necessary to register or log on in order to access the Digest.

The Digest website has an attractive new design, with improved functionality. New features include a ‘Latest News’ listing, which is updated on a near-daily basis. It is also now possible to subscribe to an RSS or Atom feed for new Digest content.

Subject categories in the Digest include poverty and social security, the labour market, education, health, social services, housing, and crime. Cross-cutting categories include children and the family, disability, gender, mental health, old age, race/ethnicity, and young people. There are also separate listings for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Each entry provides a summary of the source document, together with source references and online links.
