Note

1 For example, the compilation of the Schoolmaster-Printer of St. Albans is cited in the edition of 1497 (cf. STC 9995 where 1485 is suggested for the first extant edition) and Fabyan's chronicle in the 1533 edition (cf. STC 10659 for the first edition with date 1516)- Both books are rare and no one will blame the author for using the more available later editions, but he should supply the earlier dates as well.
