The growth and manner of the use of the five hormone products in the European Community will be reviewed.

The circumstances leading to the decision by the European Council to ban the use of steroid hormones in beef production will be discussed. This will include reference to the Lamming report and to the attempts by the UK government and the Agro-chemical industry to have the decision reversed.
