The trials described were designed to examine the effect of a protected lipid supplement (FPl; Unilever pic.) on the production of milk and milk constituents, under a range of feeding conditions. The supplement was protein-based, and had a high content of undegradable, digestible protein (UDP); the composition of the supplement is given in Table 1.
