2 The weapons buy-back program officially ceased on August 22,1997. The military secured the purchase of 9,709 rifles, 774 antitank reusable rocket launchers, 5,638 antitank disposable rocket launchers, 14,845 grenades, 6 antiaircraft shoulder missiles, and 1, 991,700 rounds of ammunition. All weapons deemed to be of modern manufacture were transferred to the Croatian Army (HV or Hrvatska Vojska) and the obsolete weapons were destroyed by Untaes.
