On September 1, 2006, the Microscopy and Microanalysis electronic submission and review website went live. Our publisher, Cambridge University Press, has teamed with ScholarOne to provide this service. From now on all manuscript submissions to this journal must be made electronically through the following website:
http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mam
This new feature should encourage better communication with authors and reviewers and more rapid processing of manuscripts. The submission process is simple. Once you are at the website, follow the instructions for creating an account and submitting your paper. When you reach the “login page,” you might try the “Author Quick-Start Tutorial” under the heading “Resources.” Both phone and e-mail help services are available at the website. Of course, all manuscripts still must meet the peer-review standards of our journal.
Other enhancements have been added to the operation of this journal. Corrected proofs are now posted on the Cambridge University Press website (Cambridge Journals Online) as they are available. This means a citable version of each paper can be viewed electronically, under “Forthcoming Articles,” before the print version appears. Note also that color images and video files are published free of charge in the online version of the paper.
Microscopy and Microanalysis has the largest paid circulation base of any microscopy journal in the world and is affiliated with over a dozen microscopy societies around the globe. Submission of manuscripts is encouraged in all areas of microscopy including biological applications, physical science applications, and instrument development. This journal is indexed in Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents, and MEDLINE (PubMed).
Please consider Microscopy and Microanalysis in your publishing plans. Electronic manuscript submission is easy. Try it.
