First record of Ophioderma vansyoci (Echinodermata: Ophiuroidea) in the Gulf of California

Abstract

The rare ophiuroid Ophioderma vansyoci was collected at Las Animas, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This is the first record of this brittle-star from the Gulf of California. This locality is a shallow area of a seamount in the Baja California Seamount Province.
