Note

Two films taken by Mrs. Kadman and Dr. Gerson-Kiwi were shown. The first was made in 1950 when Operation “Magic Carpet” came to an end. This was the transporting of some 50,000 Yemenite Jews by air from Yemen to Jerusalem (see article in JIFMC, Vol. IV, p. 27). The film was made in the immigration camps. The sound film dates from 1953. It shows some of the same persons as in the first film. In their adaption to modern life their dress has changed but they have retained their dances.
