In his article on ‘Attic Kinship Terminology’, W. E. Thompson points out that κηδϵστής is the correct term in Attic to describe any male affine and includes Pl. Lg. 773b as a certain instance of the meaning one's daughter's husband, preferring to be more precise than Liddell-Scott-Jones who are content with connexion by marriage.
