A Note on Plato Lg. 773b
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 23 December 2013
Extract
In his article on ‘Attic Kinship Terminology’, W. E. Thompson points out that κηδϵστής is the correct term in Attic to describe any male affine and includes Pl. Lg. 773b as a certain instance of the meaning one's daughter's husband, preferring to be more precise than Liddell-Scott-Jones who are content with connexion by marriage.
