1 Or the scholiast's, as at 71.4? I should have thought that here the scholiast was simply wrong, that we must at least consider the alternative πρὸς Ἀθηναίους: sc. Korinth hints that she may be compelled to join the more go-ahead concern.

2 The really insuperable difficulty of the text is that the χωρίον cannot be Beroia and therefore its name must have dropped out (ἐπὶ ΣτρέΨαν restores this name). Gomme puts this felicitously: it is point (1) in p. 216 n. 1.

3 Whether or not (as I rather suppose) it was the only practicable crossing of the Haliakmon.
