In the review of Stephen S. Large's book, Organized Workers and Socialist Politics in Interwar Japan, in the November 1982 issue of JAS (42, no. 1:167–69) by Sheldon M. Garon, sentences 3 and 4, paragraph 1, page 169, should read:
Second, he needs to show that socialist politicians like Asō Hisashi proved more resistant to authoritarianism and imperialism than Sōdōmei's Nishio Suehiro and Matsuoka Komakichi. Instead we learn that Asō and like-minded labor leaders led the way in dissolving their unions and the Social Masses' party in the hope of gaining the government's support for “socialism from above.”
