* [The Declaration on Namibia and Programme of Action in Support of Self-Determination and National Independence for Namibia were adopted by the ninth special session of the U.N. General Assembly as Resolution S-9/2 on May 3, 1978, by a vote of 119 in favor to none against, with 21 abstentions.
[The special session of the General Assembly on the question of Namibia took place from April 24 to May 3, 1978. Before the Assembly were the proposals of the Council for Namibia, embodied in the above resolution without change.
[On April 10, 1978, a Western proposal on Namibia was transmitted t o the Security Council. That proposal appears at I.L.M. page 762.]
