The authors fail adequately to discuss, in my opinion, the online version of the West digest available in Westlaw as a hyperlinked text for combining the best of “smart” or editorially-assisted indexing with straight Boolean logic aimed across primary sources. There is potential to combine the strengths of the old digest system and the new user-driven system while skirting most of the pitfalls of both. The new KeySearch approach could have been evaluated as well. Their use of the term “code” is also not made as clear as it might be in the legal context.Google Scholar
