Huge geographical distances aside with language barriers are major obstacles in provision of mental health care in greenland. Dispersity of population and shortage of professional resources that speak inuit language were and still are major challenges in development of an effective mental healt care system. Telepsychiatry was developed in Greenland during last 10-15 years. The presentation will run through major aspects of historical facts as well as potential future impacts of telepsychiatry on development of modern health system in Greenland. Pioneer experiences with telepsychiatry via patients‘mother tongue will also be presented.
