P-1451 - Psychological Condition due to Infertility

Infertility is considered as a social and mental shock for many of the couples and is often very influential matter for life. The oresent research has been conducted to investigate the mental condition of the fertile women in comparison with the infertile women.

The participants in this study consisted of 50 infertile women and 50 fertile women. That compared by the General health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and SCL-90-R test.

The result of this study reveal that there is a significant difference between the fertile and the infertile women in four areas of the test: body complaints, anxiety, depression and social performance. Also the infertile women are less healthy than the fertile women. It was observed a reverse correlation between the period of infertility and the mental health.

With regard to the injury of the infertile women to psychiatric problems, its essential to have psychiatric centers to present psychological and psychiatric services.
