* Here we would like to add excessive use of river waters for irrigation, such that the Nile now ‘scarcely reaches’ the Mediterranean Sea, and the Aral Sea scarcely exists at present — cf. Fig. 1 on page 192 and see Dr Dietmar Keyser's report (filling page 282 of our latest completed volume) of the UNEP meeting under the chairmanship of our eminent Advisory Editor in matters pertaining to Fresh Waters, Professor Gilbert F.
