* Edwardus Dei gratia rex Anglie, etc. vicecomiti Norhamtonie, salutem. Teste meipso apud Cestriam, xx. die Junii, anno regni [nostri decimo.]—The date of this writ is torn off ; but on the 20th of June, 1282, tenth year of hia reign, King Edward was at Chester, whereas on the 20th day of June, 1279, seventh of his reign, he was at Canterbury.—T.
