Footnotes
The new US Federal law, the Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act (1990), places many new obligations on museum curators and field archaeologists. In a pioneering agreement between the two groups in the community who care most about Native American remains and relics, the confederated tribes and the archaeologists of Washington State, in the Pacific Northwest, have set down their common ground. We print introductory comments, and then the Shared Principles.
