S-931. OGDEN, LaVerne G.
Body building through “energized blood” … Cincinnati, Ohio: The Ogden College of Physi-Culture, [c1915].
40 p. : ill., ports. ; 20 cm.“Success is a matter of personal efficiency. And personal efficiency depends on personal fitness” (p. 3). One of the most important roads to fitness is through proper breathing and exercise, which, in the Ogden System, is the most effective means for providing oxygen to the blood. Properly oxygenated or energized blood is absolutely essential to both ward off disease and to maximize the efficient operation of body and mind. “A multitude of efficiency destroying ills can be traced directly to stagnant blood – blood laden with toxic poison” (p. 5). Ogden's system of exercise both purifies and energizes the blood – “blood so pure and virile that its tremendous resistant power will prevent disease laying hold of the vital organs” and will revitalize the brain and the nerves. Title on wrapper: Energized blood.
