Summary

Will I ever feel shy

To point to my land with pride,

The dear land of my fathers

Land of many wonders,

The land that gave me birth,

Endowed with rare treasures of earth?

Should we forget those who paved

The way that now we're saved—

Men by whose life-blood and heroic story

This dear land gets its history—

Men from whose lips came liberty,

By whose toils we now are free?

Many are the nations of the world

And varied the flags unfurled

When they all in great jubilation

Hailed Ghana into the Commonwealth of Nations,

With the red, yellow and green

This black star now stands supreme.

Let's take off our hats, it's an honour

For us to belong to Ghana—

Black Nation young yet haughty—

Alert in mind, strong in body—

Sons of Ghana pray for unity

And peace will bring prosperity.

Unity to harmonise with all tribes,

Peace even though we stand for rights,

Fraternity to teach us we're brothers

And sisters in this land of our fathers—

Love and strength for us to maintain

What others struggled to attain.

What was before is now no more—

Let's sink our faults to another shore—

A new era for us has dawned

Blessing for the living, hope for the unborn,

Praise the land of our fathers

The land of many wonders.
