Edmundus, permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus, reverendo in Christo patri et confratri nostro Thomae, eadem permissione Eliensi episcopo, salutem in Domino et fraternae dilectionis continuum incrementum. Breve sive mandatum excellentissimae in Christo principis et dominae nostrae Mariae, Dei gratia Angliae, Franciae et Hiberniae reginae ac fidei defensoris nuper, cum ea qua decuit reverentia et honore, humiliter recepimus exequendum in haec verba:

Maria, Dei gratia Angliae, Franciae et Hiberniae regina, fidei defensor, reverendo in Christo patri et domino Domino Edmundo Londoniensi episcopo, salutem. Quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos, securitatem, bonum publicum et defensionem regni nostri et subditorum nostrorum eiusdem concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando, mandamus quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis universos et singulos episcopos Cantuariensis provinciae ac decanos ecclesiarum cathedralium, necnon archidiaconos, capitula et collegia, totumque cuiuslibet diocesis eiusdem provinciae clerum, ad comparendum in ecclesia Sanctae Mariae Oxoniensis tertio die Aprilis proximo futuro [3 April 1554], modo debito convocari faciatis, ad tractandum, consentiendum et concludendum de et super praemissis et aliis quae sibi exponeretur tune ibidem ex parte nostra, et hoc sicut nos et statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem ecclesiae praedictae diligitis, nullatenus omittatis. Teste meipso apud Westmonasterium vicesimo primo die mensis Februarii anno regni nostri primo [21 February 1554].

Cuius quidem brevis sive mandati vigore pariter et auctoritate, vos reverendum patrem tenore praesentium citamus et peremptorie monemus vestraeque paternitati reverendae mandamus, quod vos, decanum et capitulum, ac archidiaconos ecclesiae vestrae cathedralis Eliensis, necnon ecclesiarum praelatos, exemptos et non exemptos ac clerum vestrae diocesis peremptorie etiam citari faciatis et praemoneatis, quod vos, praefate reverende pater, decanusque dictae vetsrae ecclesiae cathedralis ac ceteri praelati huiusmodi personaliter, et capitulum eiusdem ecclesiae per unum, clerusque dictae vestrae diocesis per duos sufficientes procuratores compareatis et compareant in dicta ecclesia Beatae Mariae Oxoniensis tertio die mensis Aprilis proximo iam fiituro [3 April 1554], cum continuatione et prorogatione dierum extunc sequentium et locorum, si et quatenus expediat, secundum vim, formam, continens et tenorem eiusdem brevis sive mandati tractaturi, facturi et recepturi ac subituri quod tenor et effectus brevis sive mandati huiusmodi de se exigunt et requirunt.
