Henricus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae venerabili in Christo patri Henrico, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Eboracensi Angliae primati, salutem. Quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos et statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem Ecclesiae Anglicanae intime concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando mandamus quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis universos et singulos episcopos Eboracensis provinciae ac decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium abbates et priores et alios electivos exemptos et non exemptos necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia totumque clerum cuiuslibet dioecesis eiusdem provinciae ad comparendum coram vobis in ecclesia cathedrali Beati Petri Eboracensis vel alibi prout melius expedire videritis, citra octabas Sancti Hilarii proximo futuras [20 January 1416] more solito convocari faciatis, ad tractandum, concordandum, consentiendum et concludendum super praemissis et aliis quae sibi clarius exponentur tune ibidem ex parte nostra. Et hoc sicut nos et statum dicti regni ac honorem et utilitatem ecclesiae praedictae diligitis nullatenus omittatis. Teste Iohanne duce Bedfordiae custode Angliae apud Westmonasterium duodecimo die Novembris anno regni nostri secundo [12 November 1415].

The archbishop's prorogation of the convocation

Henricus, permissione divina Eboracensis archiepiscopus etc. venerabili fratri nostro Domino Thomae Dei gratia Dunelmensi episcopi salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Cum nuper convocationem nostram praelatorum et cleri nostrorum dioecesis et provinciae in ecclesia nostra Eboracensi celebrantes, convocationem eandem iudicialiter et publice in praesentia vestra praelatorumque [et] cleri tune praesentium certis iustis ex causis quae praelatorum tune absentium personalem praesentiam requirebant sicuti requirunt de praesenti usque ad quartum decimum diem mensis Ianuarii proximo futuri [ 14 January 1416] cum continuatione et prorogatione dierum sequentium et loci seu locorum si oporteat continuavimus et prorogavimus, matura deliberatione praehabita super hoc; quocirca vobis mandamus quatenus citetis seu citari faciatis peremptorie omnes et singulos abbates, priores et alios electivos, exemptos et non exemptos, necnon capitula, conventus et collegia totumque clerum vestrae dioecesis quatenus ipsi abbates, priores et alii electivi, exempti et non exempti personaliter ac alii supradicti per procuratores idoneos compareant et compareat quolibet eorum dicto quarto decimo die in ecclesia nostra praedicta, omni excusatione cessante, nobiscum super negotiis arduis regis, regni et Ecclesiae Anglicanae alias interessentibus expositis, et iterum exponendis tractaturi et conclusuri.
