Summary
In this section, Ann Cleeves explains how she takes an idea for a story, works with it, creates the manuscript, liaises with agent, editor and reader, and then promotes the work to her readers. This is a fascinating insight into how an author takes the writing process from idea to publication and beyond.
This chapter is of great value to library and information professionals as it provides a unique perspective on the world of the writer and her public. An understanding of this process will help inform and consequently underpin many of the reader development activities undertaken by practitioners.
