Summary
This chapter provides an ethical framework to guide leadership of obstetrics and gynecology in healthcare organizations.
Obstetrician-gynecologists in leadership positions confront ethical challenges on a daily basis. These range from making decisions about improving patient safety, managing disruptive physician behavior, the allocation of organizational resources, securing cooperation from reluctant colleagues for the use of evidence-based guidelines, and obtaining vital resources from organizational leaders who promise prompt action and then obfuscate and delay.
