In the course of the publication of this volume, Paul Geroski died. Paul was an outstanding scholar in the field of innovation and industrial economics, with major contributions in industrial dynamics, entry, firms growth, market structure and innovation, technology diffusion, determinants of corporate performance and many, many other topics. He was a man of deep intellectual curiosity, high integrity and great enthusiasm. We will miss him dearly as a scholar, colleague and friend.
