Summary
The verb “to thematize” (thematisieren) means “to make something a topic (of discussion, or thought).” Something is thematic in the experience of an agent if and only if she is consciously focused on it. Something is unthematic (unthematisch) in the experience of an agent if and only if she is not focused on it, but still conscious of it.
