Summary
[Blatt 1r]
JOHANN VAN BEETHOVEN [presumably at Beethoven's apartment; early afternoon of Sunday, April 27]: Augs[burg?] [//] I am expecting Sch[indler]. //
Because I promised the Trio, something else will not yet be offered to him. // One can write to him that the Trio is not yet finished. //
Are these? //
Because you invited me for coffee yesterday, and not him [presumably Schindler]. [//] [Blatt 1v]
Can't one have the Variations copied right away, today, at Schlemmer’s? // He would be finished in 2 days. //
SCHINDLER [joining Johann and Beethoven at the composer's apartment; ca. 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27]: I was at Müller’s, and he took me to see Countess Geminy [Kemény] herself. You can have the apartment for 400 fl., although the countess doesn't want [to do it], but Müller says that you ought to stay with that. //
Burney <Booney> [Baron Prónay] // [Blatt 2r]
The apartment still has 2 separate stairways; the one [goes] directly into the kitchen. // He will only ask you. //
JOHANN VAN BEETHOVEN: I’ll have the 6 Bagatelles copied immediately. [//]
[Blatt 2v]
[Brother Johann presumably leaves; Schindler remains for Sunday dinner, presumably ca. 2 p.m.]
SCHINDLER: Rice with veal. [//]
BARON MÜLLER [probably arriving at Beethoven's apartment unexpectedly, and not joining Beethoven and Schindler for midday dinner]: We were at the countess's place; she desires 500 fl. W.W. [//] However, if you please, tell me your ultimatum [final amount] [//]
Apartment full of children. [//] Immigrants without great [financial] means. [//]
13,600 fl. bankn[otes]; at Count Scheger’s. [//] [Blatt 3r]
Almost every day, a wagon goes from Baron Brunä's [Prónay’s] house in the City, which often takes care of everything that they need by way of food; and takes care with the best meat. [//]
[Müller departs.]
SCHINDLER [making fun of Müller after his departure]: They have everything right there in Hetzendorf: <Gree> Side dishes of vegetables, even meat. //
[making a copy of music or writing a letter in ink; after midday dinner, Sunday, April 27:]
Until it dries; I’ll make it clearer. //
