Henricus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae venerabili custodi spiritualitatis archiepiscopatus Eboracensis sede vacante, salutem. Quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos, statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem Ecclesiae Anglicanae intime concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando mandamus quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis universos et singulos episcopos Eboracensis provinciae ac decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium abbates et priores et alios electivos exemptos et non exemptos necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia totumque clerum cuiuslibet dioecesis eiusdem provinciae ad comparendum coram vobis in ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Petri Eboracensis vel alibi prout melius expedire videritis, citra quindenam Sancti Michaelis proximo fiituram [13 October 1424] more debito convocari faciatis, ad tractandum, concordandum, consentiendum et concludendum super praemissis et aliis quae sibi clarius exponentur tune ibidem ex parte nostra. Et hoc sicut nos et statum dicti regni ac honorem et utilitatem ecclesiae praedictae diligitis nullatenus omittatis. Teste rege apud Westmonasterium decimo die Iulii anno regni nostri secundo [10 July 1424].

[362r] Memorandum quod statuta fuerat convocatio praelatorum er cleri Eboracensis provinciae sexto die mensis Octobris anno Domini millesimo CCCCmo vicesimo quarto, cum continuatione et prorogatione dierum sequentium ad mandatum sive breve regium custodi spiritualitatis archiepiscopatus Eboracensis sede vacante, in forma in huiusmodi convocationibus convocandis consueta in hac parte directum. Et transmissae fuerunt venerabilibus patribus dominis Thomae Dunelmensi et Willelmo Carliolensi episcopis sanctae Eboracensis ecclesiae suffraganeis, commissiones in huiusmodi convocationis negotiis ipsis transmitti consuetae, ad comparendum personaliter die convocationis praedictae et ad citari faciendum omnes et singulos abbates, priores, archidiaconos et officiales eorum ac clerum suarum diocesium. Emanavit etiam commissio in forma consueta officiali curiae Eboracensis sive eius commissario generali ad citandum abbates, priores, archidiaconos et eorum officiates ac clerum diocesis Eboracensis, omnesque alios et singulos in convocationibus huiusmodi vocari consuetos, ad comparendum die convocationis supradicto, in domo capitulari ecclesiae Eboracensis nostrae.

Quo die adveniente, praesentibus in domo capitulari praedicta venerabilibus viris Willelmo decano, Willelmo Pelleson, Iohanne Sellow et Iohanne Woodham canonicis ecclesiae praedictae capitulum facientibus et in hac convocatione praesidentibus comparuerunt personaliter venerabiles in Christo patres et domini Dunelmensis et Carliolensis episcopi supradicti ceterisque praelatis, archidiaconis et eorum officialibus ac clero Eboracensis provinciae quibusdam personaliter et quibusdam per procuratores et quibusdam neque per se neque per procuratores comparentibus sed contumaces reputatis.
