Summary
Checklist of Instruments Illustrated in The Text Legend
The length of the double flageolets is given in millimetres as overall length (excluding mouthpiece) / sounding length RH pipe / sounding length LH pipe. The pitch is given as that of the sixth-finger note and nominal pitch is added when known. To simplify description, keys on English flageolets are described in terms of an instrument with D as the sixth-finger note: on tenor double flageolets this note may be stamped D (d’) but sound A (a): on French flageolets, the sixth-finger note is designated A.
The instruments are listed in the order in which they appear in the text.
