Summary
Bibliographical Data on Tutors Discussed in The Text
This appendix gives bibliographical data on tutors which are discussed and/or illustrated in the text: the locations of other tutors which are only cited briefly are given in footnotes. In many cases it is difficult to assign a precise year to many of the tutors for, in the early nineteenth century, few musical publications were dated. In the absence of a precise date, the publications are dated ‘c18XX’ quoting the appropriate library catalogue date.
